Of the three exhibitions I liked the paintings the most. The theme spoke to me because I
like animals. Actually who doesn’t? Furthermore I loved it because of the detail. Some of
the paintings were so accurate and realistically painted you couldn’t have seen the
difference between a picture and the painting. This was the case with a painting from a
deer in the woods which I was very impressed by. I also liked it for the variety of styles.
Since all the paintings were painted by different artists they all had a different touch.
There were for example various paintings
with cats or dogs in them but they were all
different in the use of colour or light.

The first exhibition didn’t strike me at the beginning. I thought it was kind of dull. I
assumed it were just some toy cars. However when I started reflecting on it I got a
different opinion. I think the simplicity of the cars is beautiful and it symbolises the
satisfaction children possessed in those days. Currently
toys contain so much detail and additions and even then
kids want more and more. These toys with vivid colours,
clear shapes and a strong design hold way more
pedagogical significance than modern toys.
Un peu de terre sur la peau was quite interesting as well. I love
jewellery so I was pleasantly surprised that there was an exhibition
about this. It exhibited some beautiful pieces I would love to wear.
However most of these items weren’t made for the daily life.
They were extraordinary, heavy and impractical. I found all of them
very original especially for the rough use of material. The jewellery
in the picture on the right is to me the most desirable. The use of
everyday objects is just plainly said awesome. This is something that
captures my attention for its freshness and refined look.
Altogether it wasn’t that bad at all. I was a bit prejudiced since it is
an art museum. I thought it would be very boring but I actually
enjoyed some of the works.
