Wolf of Wall Street
In the 1990’s there was a man named Jordan Belfort. Together with his partner
Donny Azoff he started a brokerage firm named: Stratford- Oakmont. This
company quickly grew from 20 staff members to a crew of more than 250 staff
members As their status grows, so do their lies and abuse of innocent customers.
This leads to widespread corruption on wall street and the bank world, done by
Jordan’s company. With the FBI researching their method, Jordan needs to
come up with new ways to cover his tracks and make money. Will his
widespread corruption ever end?
This is the story that Martin Scorsese was inspired. And so the new high grossing movie: ‘the wolf of wall street’ was born.
The movie basically is one big ‘Jordan Belfort show, documentating his live.
As my mission for this year is to see all the nominated Oscar movies, the ‘wolf of wall street’ really was a movie i needed
to see. While doing my research into the Oscar films, I came across the trailer from the wolf of wall street. This trailer
immediately catched my attention. The images and interesting editing appealed to me. Also the music done by Kanye
West was something that I liked. All these reasons made me see the go to the cinema to see ‘the wolf of wall street’ as
the first movie on my list. And I have not regret this.
‘The wolf of wall street’ is released in December of 2013. the movie was directed by the director: Martin Scorsese, who is
considered to be one of the greatest directors of all time. He is mainly known for his films about modern crimes and
gang fights like goodfellas (1990) and gangs of new York (2002). Also his movies are often characterized by his portray of
violence and his liberal use of profanity. Martin Scorsese himself stated that he is greatly influenced by his youth and his
past. He was born in an Italian neighborhood in Italy. His parents were immigrants coming from Sicily. This is why the
