After this we walked through a street with lots of sex shops and private dance club which
aroused my little brother and me a bit. We had a lot of fun there which was good.
My visit to the Eiffel Tower was cosy and scary. We went there in the evening and enjoyed a
drink and of course some baguette in front of the tall building. I did this with my family and
Greet which made it even better. After that, my brother and me climbed the tower by stairs
and reached the second level. It was scary sometimes, because you could see through the
stairs and they weren’t so steady anymore and they were very old as well. Once at the
second level we made some pictures and saw the lightshow from the building itself which
was very exciting.
The visit to the Arc du Triomph was pretty impressive, because I knew approximately when it
was built. I had respect for the Architect who created a wonderful building. It isn’t as big and
attractive as the Eiffel Tower, but carries a more important message for me. The Champs
Elysees wasn’t that great. All the stores are the same as you see in London and Berlin, which
I visited already in 2007 and 2012. Some stores like the one from Louis Vuitton are very big
and impressive, but the other ones aren’t.
The visit to the Notre Dame was a bit confusing. From the outside it looked beautiful and
especially when you remember it was built in the Middle Ages. Only my mother and me
went in because the rest were tired and a bit overheated. It was very busy inside, since a
miss was going on. We could still walk around and see lots of tombs from important clergy
people and kings. I couldn’t understand where the miss was about, because it was in French
and Latin. What confused me was that most of the people from the church weren’t originally
French, but Algerian or definitely from the former colonies. I thought most of them would be
Islamic, so this means I was a bit prejudiced, but this experience definitely gave me a wider
perspective of religion.
Unfortunately, we didn’t go into the Louvre, because it was pretty expensive(around 80
euro’s for us all) and my brother and father didn’t want to go in or have the patience to wait
outside. The was disappointing for my mother and me, because we are both interested in
history(not really in paintings). We did sit in front of the museum for some time to rest,
because there were quite a few places to sit down. This was actually pretty nice and
refreshing, since we something cold to drink.
The visit to the Galerie de la Fayette was how I expected it to be. All the expensive shops and
brands where we don’t have the money for and the fancy dome in the middle. That was
quite impressive, but all the shops weren’t. Because of this our visit didn’t take that long,
because we were tired of all the expensive shops.
