The Mayor’s Awards in the Arts
The Mayor’s Awards in the Arts are presented by the Coeur
d’Alene Arts Commission and the City of Coeur d’Alene to
recognize and encourage excellence in the arts throughout the
City. Mayor Steve Widmyer presides over the festivities and
the awards presentation for deserving citizens who have been
nominated and chosen for Excellence in the Arts, Support of the
Arts, Education in the Arts, and Student Excellence in the Arts.
This fun and vibrant event also features a live auction of previous
public art maquettes, live music, hors d’oeuvres, and a no-host

Art in the Making

Watch regional artists draw, paint and sculpt a live model.
Everyone is invited to meet the artists, ask questions about the
process, and watch them work at this free event. Live music by a

Artists demonstrate their creative abilities on the runway
by turning junk and recycled materials into fabulously fun
designer outfits. This highly successful event mixes fashion, art
and sustainability before an intensely energetic crowd in one
unforgettable riotous evening.
