er training began with private lessons from Frances Bond; classes in art at Shadle Park High School; Spokane Falls
Community College; Spokane Art School; and many, many workshops. She has learned from Stan Miller, Ken Spiering,
and visiting artists through the Spokane Watercolor Society — including Lian Zhen, Bev Jozwiak, Gloria Miller Allen,
and Jean Peterson.
West has been active in the Spokane Watercolor Society (http://www.spokanewatercolor.org) and is a Signature Member
of the society. She received the Best in Show for the Spokane Watercolor Society Annual Juried Show in 2014. She
belongs to the American Women Artists Association and Northwest Watercolor Society. She likes to paint and participate
in competitions. These groups frequently create juried shows, competitions and focus on opportunities for their members.
