Inland Northwest Opera (INO)
Inland Northwest Opera is the only professional opera company
serving Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington with world-
renowned talent and emerging artists in the opera world.
Creating opera to be a part of life in the region, they seek to
instill a personal appreciation for opera among all ages and
backgrounds.
Each year, during May and June, Opera-tunities will reach
elementary schools and public community venues with a youth-
specific opera designed to inspire young minds with the power
of the human voice. These performances, along with a Q&A
session, often open the pathway to a life-long interest in opera.
In July, Opera on the Lake offers a unique way for many to
experience opera, along with a refreshing Lake Coeur d’Alene
sunset cruise. An annual favorite, this opera is often a light
comedy, perfect for a summer evening.
In the fall, the grand Mainstage event offers some of the most
talented stars on the international circuit and showcases the best
loved productions in the repertoire.

North Idaho College Theatre Department

The NIC Theatre Department provides a program for students
looking for a career in theatre or to develop their theatrical
skills. An integral part of the program involves producing two
plays a year. These plays are meant to challenge students as well
as provide theatre events for the Coeur d’Alene community.
Productions at the Schuler Performing Arts Center in Boswell
Hall are free for all audiences.
