ARTS
T
heater is so important. It’s a wonderful opportunity to gather together and
explore the human condition. It is a way of projecting stories onto ourselves,
creating meaning through metaphor. It provides a safe outlet for young people,
exposing them to difficult situations as well as learning valuable tools for
communication. And it influences the way we think and feel about our own lives,
encouraging us to take a hard look at ourselves, our values and our behavior.

ART CHOWDER MAGAZINE
The Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre recently celebrated 50 years of professional
theater. Established in 1967, it is Idaho’s oldest performing arts organization,
specializing in full-scale Broadway musicals during the months of June, July,
and August. Multi-talented performers are recruited nationally, with many going
on to appear in film, television and professional venues such as Broadway stages
and tours. Orchestrations are performed by the region’s most accomplished
musicians.
