“ en plein air ”
n late 2022 the Combine Art Collective in Walla Walla began discussions with Bonnie Griffith , one of their gallery artists , to come up with a plan to promote plein air painting in the Walla Walla Valley . After a series of brainstorming conversations , Bonnie and gallery owner Lauri Borer decided to create an invitational plein air painting event , Fresh Air — Fresh Paint , that would result in works painted in the valley , along with other plein air artworks from the selected artists . These paintings would ultimately hang in the gallery for a month-long feature show and offer patrons of the arts and the interested public opportunities to watch artists in action painting “ en plein air .”
