“I think we inspire each other to keep
painting and to keep trying to improve.
We are very different people with very
different ideas and styles; we don’t
always like each other’s work and we
don’t always appreciate their critique but
somehow it works and seems to bring out
the best in each of us,“ said Alice.
Chuck came to art after retirement. “I
retired from a career with Ameriprise in
2008 and didn’t have much in mind other
than travel and watching sports. Alice
soon corrected that vision by handing
me a brush and a panel and said paint!
We joined the Y in 2009, met artist Dian
Zahner, invited her to a party and she saw
what we were doing. From then on, it was
her goal to get us into Avenue West. After
we were juried into a couple shows there,
we agreed that maybe we should show our
work.”
