Taste of the Cowboys June 7 , 2024
The 20th Annual Taste of the Cowboys , presented by Ashley , will be held at The Star in Frisco . Featuring Dallas Cowboys alumni players , the event will also include live entertainment by country music star John Michael Montgomery and gourmet tailgate food stations . Join us for Nourish North Texas , a telethon event in partnership with WFAA and the Tarrant Area Food Bank . Nourished people create communities that flourish and thrive , and with your support , we can continue to provide access to nutritious meals and build brighter tomorrows for North Texans .
Volunteer
Join the North Texas Food Bank this summer by volunteering at our Perot Family Campus in Plano , at a Mobile Pantry distribution site or with one of our community partners . Help sort , bag and box food that will be distributed throughout the community . We ’ re so grateful for our volunteers who lend their hands and hearts to our mission . Your generosity provides a critical lifeline for moms like Paula .
As a single mother , Paula works hard to provide for her 14-yearold daughter . Every day , she juggles working a full-time job , raising her daughter and planning for their future . With the cost of living higher than ever , she often worries about how to buy healthy food and still pay for things like rent , transportation and school supplies .
“ It feels really overwhelming to afford everything we need ,” Paula shares . “ Prices are up so high , and I don ’ t qualify for SNAP benefits , so it ’ s just really hard out here .”
Fortunately , Paula found one of our feeding partners right down the street from her home . Now she has reliable access to essential ingredients for nutritious meals . She ’ s thankful for staples like eggs , fruit and mixed vegetables , but Paula especially loves that she can always have healthy snacks available when her daughter comes home from school .
“ This is such a blessing for us ,” Paula shares . “ It means a lot to know that there is a place that will always be there to help .”
