Your support helps provide older adults with the nutritious food they need to stay healthy!

“ I appreciate your help very much. I mean it from the heart.”

Thanks to your generosity, Willie is staying healthy and strong!

At 90 years old, Willie has no intention of slowing down.
Willie began visiting a North Texas Food Bank partner pantry for food assistance when his wife was dealing with health issues. After she passed away, he continued to pick up healthy items for himself and his neighbors. He’ s grateful for the support of friends like you— and he’ s passing that kindness on to others.
“ It makes me happy, helping people,” Willie says. Many of the families in his community are also facing challenges as the cost of groceries— and everything else— remains high. That’ s why he always shares extra food to help make sure everyone has enough to eat.
“ When I don’ t give it all away, I just bag it up and take it to somebody else,” he says.
Thanks to the nutritious food Willie receives from the pantry, he can keep up his strength and spend time with his children and grandchildren.“ I still cook for them,” Willie says, sharing that they particularly like his baked beans.
Because of you, Willie and his neighbors are healthy and thriving— and he extends his heartfelt thanks.“ I appreciate your help very much. I mean it from the heart,” he says.“ Thank you all so much.”

Healthy Food for a Giving Heart

Maggie is grateful for your compassionate support!

Maggie started volunteering at Brother Bill’ s Helping Hand— a North Texas Food Bank partner pantry— during the pandemic. But once she retired, she had trouble making ends meet.
“ Before I retired, I was able to buy whatever food I needed. Now I’ m more restricted,” she shares.
Maggie still volunteers a few times a week, and she also picks up groceries to help supplement her fixed income. It’ s important for her to maintain a healthy diet, and she’ s grateful to have access to nutritious options.
“ The quality of the groceries is great. I’ m diabetic, and I’ ve lost a lot of weight,” she says.“ I’ ve also come to cooking classes, and that helps me with food I haven’ t had before.”
Maggie especially enjoys getting g to know her neighbors during her volunteer shifts s, and she’ s grateful for the support she and others receive.“ Coming here really helps me,” she says.“ They help a lot of people.”
Your generosity ensures thousands of neighbors like Maggie have access to healthy food. Thank you!

Thank You for Supporting Our Neighbors When They Needed You Most

When thousands of North Texans were struggling to get by during the government shutdown, you stepped up to make sure no one in our community went hungry. Thanks to your kindness, North Texas Food Bank and our agency partners hosted over 20 special food distributions in October and November to help our neighbors.
For households facing delays in federal wages or SNAP benefits, your generosity was a lifeline when they had nowhere else to go. Many, like Lameila, were visiting a food pantry for the first time:“ I never thought I would need to visit a pantry, but this helps me out so much. Thank you,” she shared.
During the shutdown, many of our partners reported serving 10 to 25 % more neighbors than usual. Your generosity helped ensure that our pantries were fully stocked to meet the increased need. Thank you for uplifting neighbors like Lameila when they need you most!
