The Beckerts Are Building Hope with the North Texas Food Bank For more than 30 years, John and Pam Beckert have served the needs of our hungry neighbors as dedicated volunteers, leaders and donors to the North Texas Food Bank. In addition to formerly serving as the President of our board, John continues his commitment to the North Texas Food Bank as a Life Board member. In his more than three decades of involvement with the Food Bank, he has witnessed its growth into one of the leading hunger relief organizations in the nation. Pam first began volunteering with the Food Bank through the Junior League. As her involvement grew, she founded a letter writing campaign that now raises around $600,000 each year for our Food 4 Kids program. The couple’s hard work has helped make enormous progress toward our monumental $55 million goal. They understand the significance of the campaign and the impact that Stop Hunger Build Hope will have on North Texas. “We believe that this campaign will transform our community into one that meets every need for nutritious meals,” they wrote in a letter to Food Bank donors. Following his parents’ example, John and Pam’s son, Brent, has taken on a leadership role of his own for the North Texas Food Bank. In addition to serving on the capital campaign committee, Brent has founded a Young Professionals group of energetic Food Bank supporters under the age of 35. In addition to organizing special events to raise funds and create public awareness, the organization is working to develop the next generation of Food Bank leaders. John and Pam, your dedication to improving the well-being of our neighbors who face hunger is truly inspiring. We can’t say thank you enough for the many ways you have supported hunger relief in North Texas – past, present and future.
