''Skit'' is a turn around from the aggression
and general 'screw you'-ness of the
beginning of the mixtape. It serves as a
reminder for the audience that this is
entirely separate from BTS; this represents
Yoongi and AgustD - not SUGA.
Following is ''724148'', giving us another
old fashioned beat, with emphasis on
the offbeat, scratching, and cymbals
creating a solid groove.
Yoongi's rap doesn't follow modern flow
expectations, but instead, giving us
something reminiscent of rap from 10, 15
years ago -fitting for a song telling us about
his youth and the music he grew up with.
Turning once again to something
more simple, "140503 at Dawn'' shows
us the daily reality for Yoongi, long hours
working on his craft. It has a simple beat
that highlights his rap and storytelling,
with the sounds of the keyboard and
mouse as intro and outro.
We transition smoothly into ''The Last'',
with perhaps the most raw and subversive
beat, featuring high cymbals constantly
driving forwards, with pauses between
phrases that make it feel halting and
almost stilted in a way. Yoongi's voice
shifts between something low, raw,
and full of vocal fry to something a
bit louder, but desperate, not stronger.
