Passion
change levels - height by standing,
sitting, being on his knees or on
the ground - without making it
seem choppy. His dance is a
well-connected whole, and that’s what
makes it so beautiful to watch despite
his movements being simple.
Feel
What is dance without feeling? Many
times people learn techniques and
choreography, and they can do the
steps, but they either appear too stiff
or make awkward angles in execution.
You don’t move yourself. The music
moves you; and when you feel the
music, the audience feels it too.
This is what separates Hoseok from
many dancers who can perform
choreography to a T but are unable
to move the crowd when there’s no
choreography to follow.
Needless to say, Jung Hoseok lives
and breathes dance. He’s worked hard
for it since he was young, making a
name for himself and never growing
lazy, never forgetting his basic drills
even after his rise to fame.
He’s gotten this far not just by talent
but also by being passionate and
dedicated to his craft.
Dance is not something you can
force yourself to learn or to be good at.
You must not only like it but must,
in fact, love it enough to practice the
same moves over and over again
hundreds of times until you get it.
Hoseok wasn’t born with the skills he
has now. Those impossible moves
you see J-Hope perform? It’s not just
talent, but hundreds of hours spent in
the studio working on getting it right -
on getting it perfect.
Jung Hoseok is a multi-faceted man
who is passionate about, dedicated
to, and deeply in love with the art of
dance. He’s a man who has worked
tirelessly to be able to stand on the
world stage as the mindblowing lord
of dance, J-Hope.
