noticeable. “SAVE ME”
maintains a non-linear
narrative - going back and
forth between the past and
present. It is told strictly from
Seokjin’s POV. However
“The Notes”, which were
released over the span of
one year through the “Love
Yourself” albums and on
Big Hit’s official Twitter,
consist of 66 chronological
entries which take into
account each character’s
narration.
The stark difference,
apart from the illustrative
emphasis, between “The
Notes” and “SAVE ME”
is the execution of the
timeline. “SAVE ME” takes
place on the days 11 April
YEAR 22 and 22 May YEAR
22, which is understood to
be the main timeline loop
in BU. The webtoon quite
directly and constantly

conforms to the much
rumoured Jin’s time travel
theory within the fandom.
Conflicting with that, “The
Notes” maps the lives of
the seven boys, dated as
early as YEAR 10 up to
YEAR 22.
“The Notes”
give the
reader an
idea of what’s
happening
below the
surface.
However, Seokjin’s time
travelling can only be
assumed from the note
titled SEOKJIN 11 April
YEAR 22.
This contrast also points
out the timelines Seokjin
travels in “SAVE ME”,
showing multiple versions
of how the story can play
out on the same day. It
remains unconfirmed if the
events described in “The
Notes” are from multiple
timelines of the universe
due to Seokjin’s actions.
An exception to this is
Seokjin’s notes dated
30 August YEAR 22 that
provide two versions of the
same event (confirmed via
the “Highlight Reels”).
There’s a great deal
of recall value to BTS’
videos projected in the
two versions - especially
in “The Notes” - either
