HOME, a fan song with hip-hop,
old school sound of the 1990’s and
trap rhythm, is about ARMY being
BTS’ home – the people BTS are
most comfortable with; the ones
they will always come back to.
Another song from the album that
gives comfort to ARMYs is Make it
Right where BTS expresses their
gratitude towards their fans with the
lyrics: a never-ending night, you’re
the one who gave me morning.
Mikrokosmos, with the Korean title 소우주
(meaning ‘small universe’), talks about
sparkling lights and how each individual shines
like a star to light up the night sky.
Jamais Vu is a song
by sub-unit Jin, J-Hope
and Jungkook. It’s a
psychologicaal
term
which means a sense of
unfamiliarity despite facing
the same situation – the
opposite of déjà vu. One
of the saddest songs on
this intimate yet somewhat
joyful album, Jamais Vu
compares a situation to
a video game where the
player loses a life each time
a mistake is committed and
they have to start all over
again. Jin, J-Hope, and
18
Jungkook sing in despair,
wishing that this real world
should just have been a
video game. However,
towards the end of the
song, Jungkook is hopeful
with the notes “I won’t give
up.”
Charlie Chaplin once
said, “A man’s true
character comes out when
he’s drunk”. Persona’s
last track, Dionysus, is
the epitome of this quote.
Dionysus is the Greek god of
wine, ecstasy, and theatre.
