guish itself from the other months of the
calendar. Notably, it’s the shortest month
given any year, even when it leaps through
time and space to give us a plus one.
What really calls incessantly for attention
every year, however, is one of the most
highly franchised and commercialized
holidays: Valentine’s Day. So, while your
phone goes off with SMSes presenting to
you the best deals you could get courtesy
of the red day, ranging from the flourished
bouquets of red roses in the flower shops
to the Hallmark rings that bear promises of
forever, February seamlessly becomes
synonymous to love.
The day of love, however, has managed to look past just the
companionship between significant others in the recent years. For
example, the newly-minted “Galentine’s Day,” which is a play on
words so that girls (sorry, boys, but it’s in the name this time) who are
single (and loving it!!!) can spend time with their gal pals - drinking
champagne and celebrating their friendships and each other.
