“Her” is opened by a feel-good intro
track “Serendipity.” Jimin’s soothing
voice fills in the somewhat sparse and
modest R&B melody, tinted with
elements of electronic throughout.
Melodically, it’s not overly-crowded with
intricate musical choices, yet mixed with
Jimin’s vocals, the song works.
The intro sets the overall theme for the
album as well – the thrill and joy of being
in love.
BTS switches gears in the next track
“DNA,” which is the lead track for
the album. The upbeat, EDM track,
with elements of acoustic guitar and
whistles, further expresses the
“meant-to-be” aesthetic of love that the
album carries.
