Those rare individuals anointed by the gods to strike down this ancient threat. Sadly, that storied line of mortals is all but extinct. But there is one – A lowly prisoner unaware of his destiny. The one the resurgent dragons will come to fear. The one those winged beasts will curse in their all but forgotten language. They will call him Dovahkiin!

Now I don’t know about you, but that paragraph alone triggers my gaming side to telling me that this game is A MUST HAVE.

Skyrim isn’t a direct sequel but rather the next chapter in the prophetic Elder Scrolls.

The previous 4 and their expansions told the story of the end of Tamriels third era and the fall of the Septim Dynasty of Emperors.

Skyrim however is two centuries into the future, which means it will be new and exciting but still have the old tradition of the previous games (hopefully).

Two hundred years have passed since the gates to Oblivion slammed shut. And the world of Tamriel is a very different place. The Empire has has ceded territory to elven nations it once ruled. The blades that have so proudly defended the emperor have all but wiped out. In the far north, the nords have turned against one another, and civil war seems imminent.
