Butler Elementary
The fourth, fifth and sixth grades will be 1:1 by the end of
this school year. each. This year, students and parents will
experience the flipped classroom, where the instruction is
the homework and the homework is done in class It will be a
great way for parents to learn with their child.
Butler Elementary couldn’t do it all without the help of the
PTA and Dads Club. Butler PTA provided teachers with
a wonderful luncheon and program during their week of
work. The Dads Club provided muscle and time helping
teachers move furniture, paint and even pulling weeds.
They both set the bar high for parent involvement.
Butler was the only elementary school in the Arlington ISD
to receive all five distinctions from the Texas Education
Agency. The community, parents, teachers and students
worked extremely hard last year and their efforts have been
recognized. This year, their motto is Butler Elementary: A
Five Star Campus.
This year will be another exceptional year of growth
and excellence for Butler and will continue to have a
full schedule of award winning academic programs like
Destination Imagination, chess club, UIL A+, oratorical, as
well as our spectacular orchestra, art and choir programs. †
The teachers kicked off their training day with an extremely
talented and highly regarded public speaker who just
happens to be one of their very own students. Will Mittig
was an oratorical contestant last year and his speech was so
inspiring that they invited him to come speak to teachers
before they started their new school year.
This year, Butler is adding Lego Education to their
curriculum with STEM projects as well as ELAR. The
students will have loads of Lego fun while learning in an
engaging and rigorous classroom. The teachers are loving
the outside the box thinking that Legos provide to children.
