Physical barriers can be used to deter and delay the access of unauthorized persons onto sensitive areas of airports. Such structures are usu- ally permanent and are designed to be a visual and psychological deterrent as well as a physical barri- er. The Airport provides perimeter fencing with access control gates for vehicles and pedestrians. Lighting System: Protective lighting provides a means of continuing a degree of protection from theft, vandalism, or other illegal activity at night. Security lighting systems should be connected to an emer- gency power source, if available. Personal ID System: This refers to a method of identifying airport employees or authorized tenants and allowing access to various areas of the airport through badges or biometric controls.
