The Airport is provided ideal access with
proximate highway infrastructure linking it to the regional area. South Collins Street is located adja‐
cent to the east side of the Airport and provides direct access to U.S. Interstate 20 less than one mile
north of the Airport. This major highway system links the surrounding area to the greater Dallas/Fort
Worth Metroplex and points beyond.
REGIONAL CLIMATE
Weather conditions must be considered in the planning and development of an airport. Temperature
is a significant factor in determining runway length needs, while local wind patterns can affect the op‐
eration and capabilities of the runway. The need for navigational aids and lighting can be determined
by the visibility and cloud ceiling conditions.
Arlington Municipal Airport experiences a humid, subtropical climate with hot summers and mild win‐
ters. Table 1C summarizes climatic data for Arlington Municipal Airport. The findings entail a 10‐year
average based upon information obtained from the weather reporting station located on the airfield.
