THE ADVENTURES OF AP BIO

AP Biology was one of Arjun’s two most difficult courses this year, American Studies being the other. Throughout the first semester of AP Bio, Arjun faced the ever present threat to his GPA. Tests were difficult and involved both memorization and application. By the end of the first semester Arjun barely skimped by with an A after constant studying. Second semester was a different story. Whether it was because the material was easier, he felt more familiar with the class, or because his final had a whopping fifty percent curve, Arjun easily obtained his A. So what did Arjun learn from AP Bio? What are his thoughts on the class?

After a thorough interview with Arjun, I would surmise his feelings as so: The class was not as interesting as he expected it to be. Ecology, the first unit, was lame, but learning about pathogens was really cool(specifically some cell killing one, that does not reproduce). Overall, the class was not so much busy work, but rather memorization and study. He thinks that in comparison to Chem H, AP Bio is less busy work, but more intensive on actually applying knowledge.

He approved of the teacher Ms. Levy, though he commented that she was much shorter than he is. Arjun would certainly recommend the class to anyone with a hint of interest for biology. Like the class? Hate the class? Didn’t take the class? Either way thanks for joining us in AP Bio in Review from Arjun’s perspective and please leave any thoughts or comments about AP Bio the class or Arjun’s perspective of AP Bio.
