This included improvements to the air conditioning and increased natural lighting as well as the replacement of staircases with central escalators and elevators. • Improve the office environment. Increase employee workspace and meeting rooms, reduce noise, energy efficiency as well as improve the canteen facility. The key design elements that were derived from the brief were; colours and brand, collaboration areas, focus rooms, transparency, acoustics, greenery and a focus on Green building. The overall objective was to create a corporate, uncluttered look with an underlying industrial feel. The interior design is innovative and dynamic to create an environment that promotes growth, innovation, expertise and knowledge sharing, by creating open plan offices, with a fresh and slick corporate space that supports a culture of collaboration, ‘up skilling’, efficiency and knowledge sharing. The design also reflects the context of the office within Johannesburg, South Africa, as well as Africa, through the use of vibrant colours and materials.
