The articulated roofs mimic the function of the facility , with angular forms illustrating the movement and speed associated with the cars housed within . These design features , while aesthetically attractive are however not just superficial but highly functional , bringing in natural light through the articulated slopes and breaking up the mass of the building form . The roof design and height ( as well as floor slab quality ) also allow for the alternative future-use as a high-quality logistics facility .
A similar conceptual yet functional approach has been taken for the office component , with a stepped façade opening out towards the intersection , maximising visibility to and from the public , while opening up to the distant views of Table Mountain .
Constructed by Abbeydale Cape , the bold and contemporary design creates an immediate landmark within the surroundings , without an overbearing presence but rather
bridging the many realities and welcoming the public into the Richmond Park development and new getWorth headquarters .
Design Concept The building is made up of striking angular roofscapes inspired by aerodynamic vehicular forms to evoke the notion of movement . The showroom is divided in two – like cars speeding past each other – while the office is divided further , responding to the site and reinforcing the concept through another dimension . The internal lounges frame views of Table Mountain , reconnecting the ideas of man-made designs back to the angular forms of nature . The building pays homage to its industrial surrounds , while carefully considering the human-scale resulting in a sleek and sophisticated architecture driven by an unwavering concept , whilst maintaining a highly functional spatial layout .
