The double height malls form an elegant shape and curved plan profile with these organic shapes echoed in the tiling patterns on the floor . The tiles are full bodied ceramic and have been carefully chosen to cope with the high wear and tear expected in a retail environment .
Voluminous courts with stairs , lifts and escalators serve as focal points . The main central court opens up to the adjacent street , bringing the interior to the outside and blending in with the urban dynamics of the precinct . It is hoped that once further urban development takes place within the Bridge City precinct it will be seen , not only as a place to shop , but also to live and work . It is intended that the retail as built will be the catalyst in this regard .
