Loch Logan Waterfront in Bloemfontein is situated right in the centre of the city , surrounded by the Free State Province ’ s sport stadiums , theatre complexes , historical buildings and businesses .

Background A project was initiated in 1993 by the city council to revive the area surrounding the lake and the famous rose gardens of Bloemfontein . A young architect , Jaques Cilliers , came up with the concept to create a place where young and old could take a walk on the banks of the lake , sit down to a lovely meal at a restaurant , shop or go to the movies in a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by nature .
The young Cilliers , who suddenly died in 1994 , could never have imagined how popular the project , which was completed in 1998 , would become and would soon expand beyond his wildest dreams .
Mr Nicholas Georgiou of the Georgiou Group saw the potential and purchased the Waterfront in the same year . In 2000 , the first phase of the new additional development was completed with a SuperSport Health and Adventure Club opening in collaboration with MNet Supersport , to become the blueprint for the national rollout of exclusive Supersport clubs right through South Africa .
In 2002 , the second phase for additional development was completed to provide premises for South Africa ’ s biggest privately owned departmental store , Kloppers .

The developers ’ goal of rejuvenating the entire area has been realised without sacrificing the authenticity and uniqueness which characterises Bloemfontein and the region
