The Ndelebe culture prevalent in the area has been a source of inspiration for the coloured glass and the effect of the beads on the floor tiles , with local artists applying their skills to the signage .
Phase Two of this development , a value centre on a pad site with GLA of 1,850m 2 , was due for completion in November 2007 . Polycarbonate sheeting , normally used in stadium roofs , allows natural light into the building during the day . At night , the internally illuminated structure appears to float at the entrance to the site and acts as beacon to the overall scheme .
