The smoke extraction system and smoke zones for the building were designed by Elshove & Pryce . The air conditioning system was designed with consideration to the smoke zones . In the event of a fire , smoke is removed from the retail and mall areas via a combination of roof mounted smoke ventilators and smoke extract fan systems . Smoke paths and zones were carefully considered to ensure escape routes were maintained smoke free and routed away from the possible smoke / fire .
