Towards the end of September 2003 various areas of the De La Rey premises were handed over to enable them to start with their shopfitting . Further handovers took place during the course of October to enable De La Rey to commence trading on the 20th of November 2003 . At the same time NMC completed the line shops and storage units .
A lot of time was spent on detailing the canopies to the perimeter of the building . The contractor had to pull out all the stops to complete these soffit sheeted canopies in time . The finished canopies definitely enhance the overall appearance of the building .
The team of consultants and the contractor held weekly Consultant Meetings and Sub- Contractor Co-Ordination meetings to ensure the consistent flow of information critical to the
efficient continuity of works , to enable the team to keep up with the tight time schedule .
