the landscape design establishes a series of curated microclimates that support biodiversity and human interaction. Indigenous, water-wise plant species dominate the precinct beds, carefully selected to withstand the seasonal wind and coastal conditions of the Western Cape. The tree selection focuses on species that provide dappled summer shade along pedestrian paths while maximising winter sunlight penetration into the central courtyard.
The hardscaping elements feature a sophisticated combination of interlocking concrete pavers and stone aggregate textures that designate clear pedestrian corridors. Paved surfaces give way to integrated planting beds, low retaining masonry walls and integrated seating nodes that double as informal meeting spots.
To soften the transition between building and nature, extensive green infrastructure wraps the architecture. This includes integrated façade planting structures and climbing vegetation on boundary screens, effectively continuing the vertical expression of the architecture into the surrounding greenbelt.
