Environmental Performance The project combines passive environmental strategies with broader urban and landscape systems. The landscaped courtyard enables natural ventilation and daylight penetration while functioning as an extension of the green network established by Battery Park.
Key interventions include aluminium brise-soleil screening, deep recessed balconies, performance glazing, clerestory glazing, photovoltaic roof panels and indigenous landscaping. Together, these measures reduce energy demand, improve occupant comfort and support the project’ s 5 Star Green Star rating. Sustainable material choices include timber screens, timber floor finishes, terrace decking and the reuse of excavated rock to form courtyard and garden walls.
A Catalyst for Long-Term Urban Transformation By completing the second phase of the Battery Park vision, 5 Dock Road achieves an impact that extends well beyond the site boundary. The project strengthens an important urban connection between the Waterfront and the city, activates public space through permanent occupation and reinforces the Canal District’ s evolution into a fully integrated mixed-use neighbourhood.
