THIS SPREAD: Dennesig cycling lanes along Hofman Road and Dennesig Street, accompanied by additional planting and greenery. Together, these improvements have created a more pedestrian-friendly environment and enhanced the quality of public space in the area.
The lively, pedestrian-oriented surroundings informed a design that actively engages with its context and establishes a dialogue with the surrounding streetscape. This relationship is most evident at ground-floor level.
The communal area within the building looks out onto the intersection of Dennesig Street and Hofman Road, a point where pedestrian and vehicular movement converge. The groundfloor layout therefore mirrors the activity of the public realm within a semi-private interior environment. Planting along the western edge of the site, bordering Hofman Road, provides shade to the building while also contributing to a more comfortable pedestrian environment along the street.
