History Long before the development took shape, the site was home to a modest cottage that became an informal gathering spot for young cyclists in the neighbourhood. The children affectionately referred to their meeting place as their clubhouse or Bendehuis.
Rather than removing the structure, the development team chose to preserve its presence and incorporate it into the new project. The cottage ultimately became both the conceptual starting point and emotional centre of the design.
Design Concept The project was entrusted to architect Johan Slee, of Slee + Co Architects.
“ The intention was never to overshadow the old house, but to celebrate it,” explains Slee.
