link . The building includes a fully operational workshop where tools and equipment are repaired , allowing the end user to receive their product in a shorter time frame .
Sustainability With industrial buildings tending to have a larger carbon footprint , the aim was to integrate sustainable elements during the design phase to help offset the building ’ s contribution and successfully achieving a 4-star GBCSA rating in the process . Sustainable provisions include the installations of PV panels on a large portion of the warehouse roof along with grey water harvesting plants that reduce the buildings dependence on municipal infrastructure . Building geometry has been used to cost effectively provide shading with overhangs , while creating large volumes of light internally for office use . Recycling plants and
refuse yards ensure all waste is handled correctly and disposed of properly and ensuring the site is always kept neat and presentable . Material specification was extremely important , to achieve the 4-star rating and this was possible through the use of specific materials , including specific glass , paints and timber .
