and is flanked by the solid masses of the sloping façade shielding against the harsh western glare .
The northern façade is subdued with strip windows accentuating the 11 storey height of the building with this detail wrapping around the eastern façade . The fire escapes are positioned on the north western and south eastern corners of the building in the sloping masses .
The inward and outward slopes are at a 6 º angle . In order to ensure brickwork stability , façade columns were cast at these angles with intermediate ring beams to which the brickwork could then be tied back to .
Sustainability Various sustainable building principles have been incorporated in the building . These include electrical light sensors , LED light fittings , water saving sanitary and brassware . The façade maximises natural daylight into the building and external views out of the building . The west glare into the atrium is controlled through aluminium louvres which are built into the unitised façade system .
The top two levels which house executive boardrooms have motorised blinds on the western façade .
