Sustainability
Passive design features include shade-cover of
glazing with aluminium fins or balcony projections,
insulated roof level double glazing where required
and low energy lighting and water heating.
Uninterrupted water supply and back-up power
generation also allows for continued productivity
and comfort of the tenant.
Interiors
The approach to the interior design was to portray
the company’s fearless approach to success as
well as being the pioneer Fintech company in
Africa. Keyword’s such as Revolution, Innovation,
Technology and Virtual Financial Landscape formed
the backbone of the design concept. Revolution
is illustrated by using bold colours such as black,
blue and white; while finishes such as timber,
copper and stone ground the interior and reflect
the company’s stability whilst pops of bright colour
and digital walls look firmly to the future.

Innovation and technology is depicted by means
of audio visual systems and strip lighting which
runs throughout the space to create a sense
of flow. A large multi-volume space and large
expanses of clear glass show that the company
is accessible and open to communication. The idea
of a ‘Virtual Financial Landscape’ is represented by
the slight curves in the ceiling, floor finishes and
shopfitting. This connects the various spaces and
represents the company’s ability to seamlessly
integrate financial services and technology.
The building’s central atrium allowed for ample
natural light. However, due to fire regulations, the
adjoining open plan areas could not be closed off
with glass and this posed acoustic challenges.
In order to overcome this, luscious carpets were
installed on the ground floor waiting area and
adjoining open plan areas. The spiral staircase
was finished with solid timber treads and acoustic
ceilings were incorporated in all open plan office
spaces, meeting rooms, coffee shop and atrium.
