Located along Lynnwood Road in Pretoria, Fintech Campus
is situated on gently sloping terrain on the northern slope of a
ridge. The fall from the south towards the north lent itself to a
raised podium with naturally ventilated basement parking below.
Access to the site is from Botterklapper Street, a parallel street to
Lynnwood Road. Parking is terraced between the two buildings
with a parking deck affording easy access to the south facing triple
glazed façade entrance. The natural elevation of the site affords
commanding views from the roof terraces with a 180º view.
Fintech Campus
Design Concept and Brief
The design brief to the architects was to make this vision a
reality, yet maintain design flexibility and apply commercial design
principles. The brief called for ±5,000m² of lettable space. The
accommodation is spread over two separate buildings; the main
building hosting a client interface space with coffee bar, various
meeting rooms and an auditorium on the entry level. The office
functions are located on the two upper floors. A roof terrace for
entertainment is situated atop the interlinked spaces. The second
smaller building hosts the business call centre, GetBucks, a staff
café and dining area as well as ablution facilities.
