Personal Background I was born in Johannesburg but have been in Port Elizabeth from a very early age . After my school career , I opted to travel to the USA as well as England before heading home to settle down .
While abroad , I purchased my first serious camera which I used for travel photography and the odd motorsports event . The sightseeing pics were great , the night time car photography at Le Mans 24h was a disaster ! I had plenty to learn .
My working life back in South Africa started in the transport industry where I worked in a mechanical role on heavy duty vehicles . After a few years I made the decision to swap diesel and a dust coat for wedding dresses and clean hands !
How I got into photography I borrowed a film camera from my father when I was in grade 12 . I wanted to use it on a school trip to Shamwari Game
Reserve in the Eastern Cape . Most of the developed photos were unusable but there was a specific photo of a Victorian bath on a checkered floor . The photo was taken in the famous Long Lee Manor house and it was technically perfect ! My father had a trained eye and recognised the quality of the photo , from then on I was hooked .
Do you specialise in any type of photography My specialties are Architecture and Interior spaces , although my professional photography career started in the wedding industry . Weddings exposed me to most aspects of photography and allowed me to shoot abroad as well as locally .
Nobody can teach or prepare you for the chaos of professional wedding photography , it ’ s the best environment to learn how to deal with anything !
At the moment I work closely with a prominent architectural and interior design firm here in Port Elizabeth , they have allowed me to hone my skills and have exposed me to many projects and exciting ideas .
