ONEHUNDREDONM , SEA POINT
The urbanisation revolution of connected neighbourhoods continues with Blok ’ s 16th development , ONEHUNDREDONM in Sea Point . “ ONEHUNDREDONM is not only in Sea Point , but deeply connected to it ”, says Blok ’ s Managing Director Jacques van Embden . “ Old meets new as heritage is celebrated yet updated by the reimagining of this Victorian-era building where the dynamic Sea Point streets are channelled through the building itself . Residents are perfectly located in this connected neighbourhood with everything right on their doorstep . Here , between the mountain and the sea , the natural light lives in harmony with the urban landscape creating a tapestry of commerce , culture and community that coincide with their daily life .” He continues : “ As developers , we aim to constantly evolve our design strategies and push the envelope when it comes to building homes that are communities and communities within homes . ONEHUNDREDONM offers every modern convenience one can think of . From the bold , exciting architecture that encapsulates the energy and pulse of Sea Point , to the thoughtfully designed apartments that maximise living , to the onsite retail and commercial spaces , to the seamlessly integrated appliances , and 24-hour security and concierge , the development is specifically designed to become a future proofed urban playground where our residents can experience everything they could want or need , together in one place – from working spaces to dinner places , and everything in-between .” ONEHUNDREDONM was designed by dhk Architects .
THE BATELEUR , SANDHURST
The Bateleur is the latest development to be launched by Landmark Consortium , the developers behind The Wahlberg in Atholl . Landmark turned to the exclusive suburb of Sandhurst to provide a rare boutique apartment opportunity located a mere 500m from Sandton
The Bateleur offers 52 apartments all with the accessibility and convenience of living close to Sandton combined with the tranquillity of Sandhurst ’ s tree-lined streets . While the development has convenient direct access onto Rivonia Road , the location of the building away from the main road , surrounded by established neighbouring estates , promises a quiet suburban lifestyle .
Adrian Maserow of renowned AMA Architects had this to say about their design : “ The development ’ s architectural style was inspired by the organic peeling of forms and shapes found in nature – one that references ripples and waves , and the gentle arc of an eagle ’ s wingspan . It ’ s this signature curved design which gives The Bateleur its name and maximises the use of the land ’ s size and position , offering private , tree-lined views that reach out towards the Highveld horizon across the forests of Sandton .”
The interior architecture for the Bateleur was inspired by the graceful curvature of the building ’ s façade which led to curved features expressed in various subtle details like kitchen counters , internal walls and bulkheads . Inmood Interiors was responsible for creating two interior palettes , Vogue and Elegance , which were carefully curated from a premium range of fittings and finishes in a mix of matte , gloss , warm and cool tones which are able to be both cohesive and still provide an appealing contrast .
17 different layouts offer a multitude of layout options ranging from spacious 1-bedroom apartments all the way up to ultra-luxurious 5-bedroom double storey penthouses . www . thebateleur-sa . com
