The whole building is based on the principle of form follows function purely because of the strict modularity of a laboratory and research environment .
Planning The first meetings were held in 2013 . Concept approval was reached by 2017 and Council approval and the tender process was completed in 2018 with construction commencing in January 2019 . Practical Completion of Phase 1 – the new building was achieved in October 2020 and the end-users occupied their new laboratories and admin areas in November 2020 . Phase 2 is due to be completed in 2021 . The entire project will complete by the end of 2022 .
