BARLOW PARK PRECINCT PHASE 1 & 2 , SANDTON
Construction has commenced on Phase 1 & 2 of the mixeduse Barlow Park Precinct which is situated just one kilometre to the east of Sandton ’ s Central Business District . This ambitious project is a collaboration between Divercity Urban Property Fund , Atterbury Property , Twin City , and the Moolman Group .
Designed by GASS Architecture Studios , Barlow Park Precinct represents a significant milestone in Johannesburg ’ s rental housing sector . It is set to become the first genuinely affordable rental housing development within this premium urban node , offering unparalleled value to its future residents .
The initial phase of this development will include 750 affordable rental units , accompanied by 5,500m 2 of retail space , and an additional 3,000m 2 allocated for a Curro Digi ED School . Subsequently , the second phase will introduce 862 more affordable residential units , with a third phase to bring an additional 348 units , totalling an impressive 2,000 units when fully realised . Upon completion of all phases , Barlow Park aspires to provide 4,100 rental units .
Barlow Park aims to introduce an accessible precinct that promotes a holistic lifestyle encompassing living , working , and leisure . Beyond enhancing the local landscape , this development is poised to make a meaningful contribution towards addressing spatial and socio-economic disparities with the city . The scheduled completion date for the first phase is slated for the end of February 2024 .
