Based in Gqeberha , DMV Architecture has been in business since 2006 . The firm aims for continuous development within the office through the exploration of space making . The practice ’ s architecture is rooted in modernist planning principles but is expressed in a timeless aesthetic . Working on both commercial and residential projects , mainly but not limited to the Eastern Cape , DMV Architecture has recently completed some interesting work . Two examples of commercial work are the Pearson High School Music School of Excellence and The Elvee , both in Gqeberha .
Pearson High School Music School of Excellence This modern structure contrasts the older existing buildings and is designed as an architectural expression , with the new music centre being a jewel , as it forms a new landmark structure for the school .
It forms a connection point between sporting activity and the main education buildings . It ’ s a building that encourages creativity and free spirit to all its users ; these users being pupils and the public that have access .
The Elvee The building is specifically designed for those ever-changing commercial environments in mind . The spaces are multi-functional and modular in design to allow the expansion or reduction of tenanted space into the next . The Elvee consists of both retail and office space , and the building ’ s lively interactive ground floor with complementing office components to the upper floor truly is the perfect example of a sustainable cohesion of a commercial space and a fun urban take on things . The Elvee ’ s mass is broken down into 3 roof forms which help create its dynamic street facade and
