EDITORIAL

One of my favourite jobs as Editor is sourcing projects to feature in the magazine . A published project is the result of close collaboration with the architect , careful consideration of the correct images that will best showcase the building and then designing the layout to bring all those elements together in a clean but comprehensive manner . The collaboration requires work from both sides but it ’ s so worth it when the professional team can open up the magazine and see the result of years of work showcased at its best . If you have a project you would like me to consider , let ’ s have a chat .

RETAIL ISSUE Talking of showcases , I am excited to announce that the April issue will be a first for Architect and Builder .
We will be dedicating the entire issue to all things Retail . From Project Watch to the opinion pieces and all of the featured projects , the focus will be on South African retail developments . In addition the issue will be accompanied by a special digital Retail Retrospective – over 600 pages of retail projects from 2000 to 2022 . This retrospective will become a valuable reference resource for developers and architects as it follows the progression of retail design over the last two decades .
