FLOORING TILES MIX ADDS STRIKING INTEREST TO TCM
Flooring supplied and installed by KBAC Flooring was specified by Ontarget Interiors for the new head office of Technology Corporate Management ( TCM ), one of the largest privately-owned IT companies in South Africa .
Sandra van Zyl , of Ontarget Interiors , says the flooring specified for a total area of over 1,500m 2 at TCM ’ s new Sandton head office comprised :
• Over 250m 2 of The Vanguard Collection ’ s Woodlands luxury vinyl tiles ( LVT ).
• Over 1,100m 2 of carpet tiles made up of Belgotex Berber Point 920 , Monn Edge , and some Van Dyck products . The vinyl and carpet tiles ’ flooring patterns and colours demarcate areas of space and create striking points of interest . The tiles were installed in open plan work spaces , private offices , meeting rooms , collaboration area , staff canteen , and break-away spaces . “ Colour and texture are always important factors when it comes to any surface design . In our specification for the TCM head office , we brought the floor colours up to blend in with the walls ,” she says .
The Vanguard Collection ’ s Woodlands - upmarket heavy-duty LVTs - comprise planks 230mm wide and 1.5m long – a highly unusual feature as LVTs of this length are rare . Another advantage of Woodlands is that the planks are available in 10 wood colours : four with standard , non-registered embossing ; four with registered embossing ; and two with hand scraped embossing . This stunning embossing effect dramatically resembles vintage , old growth wood with all its irregularities , . Ontarget selected ‘ Chocolate Oak ’ as the colour for the TCM installation .

The range is available in six colourways that range in subtlety from soothing neutrals to streaks of bright colour . Not only do the accent lines achieve a modern feel , they also allow for a variety of intriguing laying patterns .
