One a post-tensioned parking floor stretching across the total building footprint and the other a gymnasium floor. This was achieved through the principles of shear friction only, without making use of corbels, dowelling or brackets. During construction two more floors had to be added and this could be achieved by replacing heavy brickwork on certain floors with dry-walling. These weight savings occurred on the upper floors which enabled the earthquake design loads to stay within the design parameters.
