a bus. We purchased the VW from a junkyard. It was dismantled,
cut in half and converted into a self-serving coffee stop by Mint
Interiors. One coffee shop was strategically placed within the
building, encouraging employees to get up, take a break, and
interact with each other.
The Canteen
The canteen is a multipurpose space which can transform into
a training room. By using glass folding stacking doors, it allows
Zimmer Biomet to alter their space according to the occasion.
PLAE Interiors encourage multipurpose designs as this enables
the company to shape an area to the needs of the moment as
well as reduce construction and rental costs.
Zimmer Biomet
Boardroom
Traditionally boardrooms can be an intimidating environment,
limiting collaboration and communication. The designers wanted
the boardroom to symbolise the growth of the company. They
decided to create an unconventional space by contracting a local
graffiti artist to display artwork, representing Zimmer Biomet’s
progressive future.
Conclusion
Zimmer Biomet wanted an office space that showcased their
office culture and avant-garde thinking. This is an example of
where interior design meets the medical industry and creates an
inspiring space for employers, employees, and clients.
