of colour changing LED lighting. Thought has also
been given to creating interest and variety in the
design of the ‘fifth elevation’ or roofscape.
Although the appearance of the building is
intended to be eye-catching and quite unusual, it
is nevertheless designed to form an integral part of
the Menlyn Maine precinct during daylight hours,
with appropriate scale and responses to the street.
The interior theme of ‘horology’ is also reflected
on the outside of the complex, with strikingly
large clock faces, the distinctive Globe Bar above
the main casino entrance and other horological
visual references.

Access
There are a number of entry points to the complex:
Main Entrance/Porte-cochère: This faces the
central turning circle and is the most visible and
distinctive entrance dominated by the dramatic
form of the ‘Globe Bar’ suspended above. There is
