Street, maintaining a visual connection from the city to the sea. The hotel occupies the western podium levels as well as the first four floors above the podium for rooms. The far western portion of the site is tucked behind the service edges of the existing neighbouring buildings, away from the more public water’s edge walkway and it provided the opportunity to place many of the 68 service and back of house requirements in this area. The more public functions of the hotel - the restaurant, bar, reception and conference rooms - are accommodated on the north of this western podium. These areas enjoy views across the container depot and working harbour. The northern edge is also flanked by the access road and Blue Train station and platform. The Yacht Club
