PARKET LAUNCHES SMART PARKING AT RIVERLANDS
Parket, a digital parking management platform, has launched its ticketless parking system at Riverlands in Cape Town. The project showcases how modern, app-based parking can be seamlessly integrated into complex, high-volume urban environments. The system supports touchless entry and exit and includes Smartkiosks that accept multiple payment methods, ensuring accessibility even for users without the app. Features like real-time bay optimisation, remote management and integrated retail discount scanning improve efficiency and operational costs. In February alone, Parket processed over 20,000 visitors at Riverlands, where the parking solution was embedded into the development from the outset. Unlike traditional machines with limited lifespans, Parket’ s Smartkiosks are built for continual updates, extending and futureproofing the system. Parket’ s customised, ticketless solution ensures smooth vehicle movement and enhanced customer experience – essential for a development combining retail, commercial, and residential spaces. OSMOND LANGE ARCHITECTS APPOINTS NEW DIRECTORS
Since its early beginnings in 1929, Osmond Lange Architects has seen many milestones as a company and as part of the story of South Africa. 2025 marks another such milestone with the promotion of six new directors: Kay Moodley, Lerato Tsiki, Mike Drewe, Philip du Toit, Avril Paterson, and Derek Rogerson. This step reflects the firm’ s ongoing commitment to growth, transformation, and the development of strong leadership as it looks ahead to its centenary in 2029.
Each of the newly appointed Directors brings a wealth of experience, having contributed meaningfully to the design and delivery of major architectural and urban development projects across South Africa and the continent. Their work spans strategic infrastructure, commercial precincts, civic architecture, and largescale mixed-use developments, demonstrating the depth and versatility of Osmond Lange’ s portfolio and specifically the ability to deliver large-scale projects with a personal style of business. This new generation of leaders will help to shape the next chapter of the practice – championing innovation, driving collaborative project delivery, and mentoring the next generation of architects and professionals within the business.
Significantly, Kay Moodley and Lerato Tsiki will also be joining the leadership teams of Osmond Lange’ s group companies, Ikemeleng Architects and AVNA Architects, further reinforcing the firm’ s integrated approach and commitment to transformation and inclusion. Their expanded roles will help strengthen cross-company collaboration, unify strategic direction, and promote a shared culture of design-led impact.
Lerato Tsiki, who leads the firm’ s finance and administration portfolios, is the only non-architect in this cohort. Her promotion highlights the value placed on operational leadership and people-focused strategy within the studio.
